Earlier this month, Busch heiress, Clinton. donor, and whites-only beauty queen Trudy Busch Valentine won the Democratic nomination to
lose to compete against Republican Eric Schmitt for one of Missouri’s seats in the U.S. Senate, narrowly beating out the promising populist primary campaign of lefty veteran Lucas Kunce after outspending him 5-to-1 on advertising in the final days of the race. Oh well! This week, the brewing scion and newly minted Democrat nominee paid a visit to the Missouri State Fair to try her hand at retail politics aimed at the general electorate, which in the Show-Me State means—you guessed it—posing for pictures with the iconic Budweiser Clydesdales.
Very good, Trudy! This sort of thing is fine I guess, as long as you have a clear campaign message about all the well-defined policies with which you’re going to materially improve the lives of your constituents. Voters tend to be on the look out for that sort of thing, but I’m sure Valentine’s campaign knows that. Now, to take a big sip of Budweiser and check the replies…
