In May 2025, after I reported that Diageo was moving production of Aviation Gin out of the brand’s sleek new digs in Portland, Oregon, a spokesperson for the conglomerate insisted in an emailed statement it wasn’t really goodbye (emphasis mine throughout):

After carefully reviewing our manufacturing footprint, we have decided to shift volume from our bottling and blending operations in Portland, Oregon to another facility. This decision is part of our efforts to continue building resiliency and efficiency across our North America supply network, while supporting growth ambitions for our Aviation American Gin brand. Our visitor center –including its tasting room, draft cocktail bar, gift shop and distillery– will remain open and continue to be an important destination in the area.

Roughly one year later, it’s really goodbye. A spokesperson from the mega-distiller confirmed to Fingers today that it has fully cut bait on the 32,000-square-foot facility, which opened in 2022 to much fanfare. The official statement goes:
