"A hybrid vertical-horizontal model"
It's your Fingers Buzzwords of The Week!

During the heigh of the craft beer boom, contract brewing was much maligned as antithetical to the local, anti-commodity mores of “the movement.” Not no’ mo’: as the segment plateaued, true believers became more preoccupied with sustaining growth, and as it entered its present period of gradual decline, there’s a whole lotta extra capacity out there that makes contracting either a necessity (for the firms that own the under-utilized stainless steel) or an opportunity (for the firms that have a chance to get out from under that overhead, or never took it on.) Anyway, per a press release Tuesday:
As JuneShine Brands continues to scale, this transition from a hybrid vertical-horizontal model to a streamlined horizontal approach represents the next evolution of the business.
This means that it is closing its San Diego-area plant, laying off 30 workers, and contracting out all its volume. Oh, were you not able to suss that out yourself? How un-evolved of you.
